ROAR LOGISTICS LEADS FUNDRAISING FOR 11 DAY POWER PLAY

Dec 5, 2018 | News

The second annual 11 Day Power Play Community Shift will hit HarborCenter ice on July 5, for another iconic hockey marathon to support Roswell Park, Make-A-Wish and Camp Good Day and Special Times. At the top of the fundraising leaderboard is ROAR Logistics, with more than $30,000 raised to-date.

While each 11-15 player team is only required to raise $5,000, ROAR’s two teams set their sights much higher, aiming to raise a combined total of $35,000. With just a few days until the puck drops, the ambitious group has nearly reached their goal.

“This extraordinary display of commitment, community activism and collaboration is further proof that the ROAR Logistics team is up for any challenge,” said Bob Rich III, President, ROAR Logistics, Inc. “These are outstanding people – at work, at home and in the community. They are shining examples of the values we set forth as a company. We set lofty goals and with passion and perseverance we deliver on our promise.”

ROAR’s leading fundraisers are Keith Waldron ($7,220), Brendan and Shaun Whistler ($4,295), Trey Barrett ($4,000) and Jim and Jack Starck ($2,970).

Last year’s 11 Day Power Play Community Shift fundraiser, organized by a local cancer survivor, raised $1.2 million for local charities and set a Guinness World Record. The wildly successful event caught the attention of hockey players and cancer supporters from all over the nation, bringing players, colleagues, friends and families together to play a friendly game for a great cause. Registration has grown from 40 teams in 2017, to 120 teams in 2018. This year, 1,500 hockey players will compete in 118, four-hour shifts.

It may be too late to enter a team, but there’s still time to participate in the off-ice action. You can help the ROAR Logistics team surpass their goal by donating online HERE.  Let’s cheer on the team as they ROAR into HarborCenter on July 8, from 6-10 am!
